"Hire a caterer who provides carnival-style food such as hot dogs, pretzels, burgers and doughnuts. You could even create a sweet cart and have lots of fairylights everywhere for when the sun goes down.

"Bright colours would be perfect for your theme. Think of reds, blues and whites.

"Have your waiters walking around on stilts in fun outfits, and look for themed stationery to tie the whole day together.
