St Ann’s Hospice’s Bridal and Vintage Store is offering wedding dresses from Coronation Street

St Ann’s Hospice’s Bridal and Vintage Store in Stockport is boasting many wedding dresses donated to them by the Coronation Street costume department at ITV.

The soap is filmed and set in the cobbled streets of Manchester, and many weddings have taken place throughout the show’s history with their wedding dresses being left for others to wear on their special day.

St Ann’s Hospice runs their Stockport shop to raise funds for services throughout Greater Manchester from their two hospices in Heald Green, Stockport and Little Hulton, Salford. There is a dedicated specialist bridal department on the second floor which has the latest styles on offer for great value for money.

They currently have many wedding dresses on sale which have been worn by actresses on the soap such as Kym Marsh and Catherine Tyldesley, which can be seen in the shop’s window.

All of their dresses at the shop are for sale, with hundreds of dresses available that have only been worn once or are brand new. Many are donated by bridal boutiques at the end of the season, so they are all great value for a fraction of the price you’d pay elsewhere.

Jules Lamb, the acting manager at the Bridal and Vintage store, says: “We know people love to recycle and be more environmentally conscious, so we love to support this to make sure our brides get dresses that are in excellent condition and are second hand. The money paid for each dress is so important in donating to and supporting St Ann’s Hospice which helps many people in Greater Manchester with end-of-life care.”

Many of the dresses are bought in bulk, such as one worn by Catherine Tyldesley when she played Eva Price in the soap. This means there are many of the same dress bought as backup dresses to avoid any disasters whilst filming – so there are plenty you can get your hands on!

There are appointments for fittings all day from Tuesday to Saturday, with the shop also catering for mother-of-the-bride and bridesmaids, accessories to match and a recommended seamstress just down the road.
