Choosing a stand-out wedding dress

We often get brides wanting something a bit different to the norm. A great way to achieve this is by looking for an alternative colour to the traditional ivory or white. Many designs are now available in a range of colours, from subtle blush pinks to daring blacks.

Considered a tea-length dress. These look fun and quirky, especially when teamed with unusual shoes. A pair of bright coloured heels can tie the whole look together. A huge trend for 2022 is 3D florals, and we can't get enough of them! Whether it's a decorated train or the whole dress, these embellishments are a great way to ensure you stand out on your big day.

Platinum and silver are also set to be popular this year. What to expect when ordering a bespoke wedding dress

When you order a bespoke wedding dress, you're signing up for a personal service that will be tailored specifically to you. Bespoke is often seen as prestigious and out of reach for many, but don't be afraid to ask for a quote. Calculate your budget, and you may realise down the line going bespoke is a similar cost to ordering a gown and paying extra for alterations. The initial price tag of your made-to-order design may seem more expensive but do keep in mind that all alteration and fitting costs are typically included. With most dressmakers, you'll be required to book an initial consultation. Take this opportunity to discuss your budget and prepare some inspirational pictures or a moodboard. We love to see your vision, style and vibe for your wedding day.

What to expect at your first bridal appointment

First of all, congratulations and welcome to your planning journey! You're bound to feel a little nervous attending your first bridal appointment, after all, it's not every day you get to try on a wedding dress. I can't talk for all bridal boutiques, but here at The Bridal House, we offer a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We like to think that we put our brides and her guests at ease minutes after they walk through the door. At the start of your appointment, your consultant will ask about your ideas and plans for the big day. Be descriptive, this helps paint a picture of how you envisage your special day and don't be afraid to ask questions.
