August/September 2019 |
|
Welcome to the August/September issue of Your North West Wedding. We understand that planning your big day can be stressful; there’s so much pressure to find the perfect colour scheme, venue, dress – the list is endless. To help, we’ve put together a jam-packed issue bursting with inspiration.
If you’re still in the early stages of planning your nuptials and don’t have a venue yet, fear not – on page 15 we showcase regional beauties in Cumbria, and on page 23 we’ve picked our favourite hotels in which to wed. Whether you’re having a quiet celebration or a giant extravaganza, we’ve got you covered in our music and entertainment feature on page 61.
Here at CWM HQ, we’re all about supporting local businesses and promoting the talented suppliers in the North West. See local professionals come together in our three fabulous shoots on pages 85, 89 and 93 and the four real weddings, starting on page 31.
I hope you enjoy the issue as much as I did writing it. | |

Spotlight on Cumbria |
|
Holbeck Ghyll
Holbeck Ghyll is a 19th-century hunting lodge built by Lord Lonsdale. In 1973, it was transformed into a hotel and boasts acres of countryside, large bay windows and an ivy-covered façade. Guests will be impressed by the far-reaching views of the nearby mountains, lakes and fells, creating an impressive backdrop for photographs.
Ceremonies can take place in the Oak Room. This charming space is the hotel’s main restaurant and houses a large fireplace, oak-panelled walls and room for 64 seated guests.
The Segrave Room, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, striking décor and stunning views, is also available. It can hold 32 friends and family for the service.
The Lonsdale Room, located in the original part of the property, can accommodate 20 loved ones for the vows.
Alternatively, The Drawing Room can be used for more intimate celebrations. Boasting a neutral décor throughout, this area is ideal for couples looking for a blank canvas, with room for eight nearest and dearest for the ceremony and reception.
