June/July 2022 |
|
It dawned on me a few weeks ago that this is my final issue before I become a married woman – it still feels weird saying that! Our July 2022 wedding is just around the corner, and I don’t know where the time has gone. I’ve just had my final dress fitting, my hair and make-up trial and confirmed all the last-minute details but I still feel like I’m forgetting something! My partner and I are planning to sit down together at the end of the month and iron out all the small details so we can spend the next few weeks relaxing.
We were finally able to give notice this month, which was a big relief. Our local registry office is still overwhelmed by the backlog caused by the pandemic and is only taking bookings for weddings three months in advance, so we’ve had to wait until now to book our appointment, but thankfully it all went well. If you’re due to tie the knot soon, keep checking your council’s website for availability, as appointments are hard to come by.
This issue, to help you on your planning journey, we’ve put together showstopping features focusing on flowers and looking your best. We’re also looking at venues in Manchester, the latest fashion trends and must-see honeymoon destinations.
Remember, if you’ve recently celebrated your day or have been involved with a shoot, you can submit it here or via email.

Spotlight on Manchester |
|
Manchester Art Gallery
Manchester Art Gallery is Grade I listed and is a beautiful setting for weddings with magnificent event spaces with lots of character and class. Choose from the lavish Victorian and Pre-Raphaelite Galleries, with gloriously rich artworks, designs and crafts on display, or the Lowry and Valette Galleries for ceremonies or receptions.
The large columns above the grand stone staircase at the front of the building are an iconic piece of Manchester’s heritage and an ideal backdrop for photos. Weddings and civil ceremonies are held among the atmospheric Mancunian paintings by Lowry and Valette in Gallery 16 which can host up to 120 guests. After the ceremony, celebrate with drinks in the romantic Pre-Raphaelite Galleries, followed by dinner in the glass Atrium, Galleries or the Gallery Café. Evening capacity is up to 120 for dining with further guests welcome after dinner.
