I can’t believe we’re celebrating the 60th issue of Your North West Wedding. It seems like only yesterday I was beginning my first issue, but here we are! To mark this milestone, I’ve created an issue bursting with inspiration. We have five real weddings, starting on page 29, two regional shoots on pages 75 and 79 and a special anniversary feature on page 70.
I hope you had a wonderful festive season and if you received a ring – congratulations! Whether you’re at the beginning or end of your planning journey, we understand how stressful it can be. To avoid getting overwhelmed by the to-do list, take some time out and declare it a wedding-free zone. Share the load and don’t be afraid to ask loved ones for help.

The North Lakes Hotel & Spa
The North Lakes Hotel & Spa is located on the edge of the picturesque town of Penrith and is easily accessible from the M6 motorway. Just a short walk from the hotel is the historic Penrith Castle and a wonderful selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. Couples will be impressed by the venue’s beautiful décor inspired by the Cumbria countryside. The design has been expertly chosen to reflect the rustic environment and rural heritage that makes the region so well known. There are plenty of places to take photographs, including the meadow, small pagoda and firepit.
The relaxed feel extends to the spa, which has been designed with luxury and comfort in mind. It has exposed wooden beams, low lighting and seating areas.
The Cross Fell Suite features a neutral décor throughout, perfect for couples looking for a blank canvas and has space for 200 guests throughout the day. Alternatively, the Little Martindale can be used. It features exposed brick, high wooden beams and can accommodate up to 28 loved ones for the ceremony and 30 for the reception.
Depending on the package chosen, couples will receive a four-poster room on the night of the wedding, half-a-bottle of champagne, breakfast and a complimentary anniversary stay. There’s also a designated wedding coordinator to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.
