April/May 2020

Firstly, I hope all of our readers have been keeping well during this surreal, unprecedented time. It would be hard for me to not mention the dreaded c-word, however, I admire how everyone, no matter how badly they have been effected, has come together to help and support one another. The tide will start turning, and we can all begin to re-plan cancelled weddings, re-book honeymoons and get back to our wonderful world of weddings – supporting local couples and businesses finding their feet again!

This issue is bursting with inspiration; we have four real weddings starting on page 23, a guide on how to choose your big-day jewellery on page 49 and we get to know local photographers better on page 45.

I hope you enjoy the issue and don’t forget you can submit your wedding at any time by visiting this link – www.yournorthwest.wedding/get-involved-real-wedding

The Midland

The Midland is a beautiful hotel that curves gracefully along the North West coast of Morecambe Bay and boasts a restaurant, impressive views of the surrounding area and 44 stylish bedrooms. Inside, the hotel is steeped in history and Art Deco furnishings, creating a striking backdrop for photographs.

Nuptials can take place in the Oliver Hill Suite. Named after the architect who designed The Midland, it’s a bright and airy space, which can accommodate 80 nearest and dearest for the vows.

Alternatively, the Eric Gill Suite is available, with room for 140 loved ones for the service. The area can be combined with the Sun Terrace to hold 136 guests for the wedding breakfast. A partition can be removed to join the two suites together, creating space for 150 friends and family for the reception.
