Local photographer David Rucker discusses unplugged weddings.
"An unplugged wedding is where mobile phones and camera are banned. More and more couples are adopting this idea to ensure their photographer has unrestricted access throughout the day.
"Most couples love the traditional confetti shot, it looks great and it's a memory you'll cherish forever. As a professional photographer it's my job to get in the prime position and ensure you receive the perfect image. This can become difficult when a family member tries to take their own photograph and blocks the shot. Take this into consideration when deciding if you want mobile phones and camera at your nuptials as these moments are impossible to re-create. Ensure your photographer has enough space and an unobstructed view, after all the last thing you want when you receive your photographs back is for key moments of the day to be missing!
"Some couples encourage their nearest and dearest to take pictures and use disposable film camera in the hope their guests will capture some great images. While others prefer a documentary style of photography where the photographer will discretely take pictures and attempt to capture every moment of your special day. Your wedding album is often referred to as your first family heirloom so it's important you take the time to think about what style will suit your day best."
