Tie the knot at the four-star Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa

The Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa was built more than 700 years ago. This four-star venue has been modified and extended while still keeping much of its 18th-cenutry character and charm. Guests will be wowed as they approach the hotel and see the tree-lined driveway, turrets and porticos. It boasts an on-site health club and spa, which includes a sauna, steam room, swimming pool and Jacuzzi – perfect for pre- and post-wedding pampering.

Couples can get married in the Pendle Suite. It has a large dancefloor and stage, with room for 400 friends and family for the ceremony and 300 for the reception.

Alternatively, The Towneley Suite is available. Flooded in natural light, it offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, creating the ideal backdrop for those all-important photographs. It's capable of holding 120 loved ones for the vows and 180 for the evening celebration.

The Dunklaw and Garden Room is part of the original building and features a gorgeous 18th-cenutry fireplace. This elegant space can accommodate 50 nearest and dearest for the ceremony and 70 for the party.

The Portrait Room can also be used for intimate celebrations, with space for 40 attendees.

Lovebirds will receive a complimentary menu tasting and accommodation in an executive bedroom on the night of the wedding and preferential room rates for guests.
