Armathwaite Hall Hotel and Spa reveals 2026 wedding trends

We spoke to Lynsey Meades, Wedding Coordinator at Armathwaite Hall Hotel and Spa a luxury Lake District hotel and wedding venue, to identify the trends we can expect to see at celebrity weddings in 2026.

Understated elegance will continue to dominate wedding fashion this year. Selena Gomez showcased this look in her 2025 wedding with a simple yet glamorous gown, glowing makeup and delicate detailing. Lynsey explains, “Soft glam is all about enhancing the bride’s natural beauty. It’s understated but still utterly romantic, and we’re seeing a lot of couples gravitate towards it.”

For Taylor Swift, this trend feels particularly on-brand. Lynsey notes, “Taylor’s wedding is likely to feel like a fairytale, combining refined elements from her Enchanted dresses with the flowing simplicity of her Folklore style, as seen in her recent Eras Tour looks. Soft glam bridges that gap perfectly, think delicate fabrics and gentle embellishment.”

Grooms are stepping into the spotlight in 2026, with their style now just as considered as the bridal look. Men are embracing bold fashion and moving beyond the classic black-tie. Lynsey explains, “Couples want their weddings to feel cohesive, and this includes the groom. We’ve seen more grooms taking risks with tailoring, colour and accessories.”

Callum Turner, model, actor and soon-to-be husband of Dua Lipa, is likely to embody this trend. His modelling background and recent appearance in a Louis Vuitton fashion campaign mean he is no stranger to cutting-edge style. “Callum has a natural flair for fashion, so it would come as no surprise to see him in a suit which is both modern and daring,” Lynsey adds. “I’m imagining bold textures, sleek tailoring and subtle statement details that elevate the classic groom look.”

Floral décor at weddings is set to be bigger and bolder than ever in 2025, with many couples opting for dramatic archways or statement bouquets. Lynsey explains, “I’m seeing more couples embrace florals in their weddings, and I’m not talking the traditional flowers on tables. I’m talking about creating wow moments, such as an eye-catching floral arch, or oversized, colourful bouquets.”

“This trend is likely to feature across many celebrity weddings in 2026,” she continues. “I think bold flower arrangements will definitely appear at both Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s celebration and Charles Leclerc and Alexandra Saint-Mleux’s wedding. Taylor is known for her woodland aesthetic and her love of nature; their proposal spot says it all. Alexandra often shares statement bouquets and flower arrangements on Instagram, so it will be no surprise to see vibrant, eye-catching floral choices from her.”

Wedding after-parties are becoming just as important as the main celebration, with couples planning events that feel like exclusive parties rather than traditional receptions. Lynsey explains, “There has certainly been a shift in the atmosphere created after the formalities are out of the way. I think that’s something we will definitely see more of in 2026. Couples are opting for something more relaxed, energetic and fun.”

This trend feels especially fitting for Miley Cyrus and Maxx Morando, both musicians with a strong connection to live performance. “With music playing a huge part in Miley’s and Maxx’s lives, an elevated afterparty makes perfect sense,” Lynsey adds. “Whether through live music or a DJ-led celebration, it allows them to create a moment that feels authentic and unforgettable.”

“Multiple bridal looks have become the norm at celebrity weddings in recent years and it seems this trend is here to stay. Many celebrities tend to have at least two dresses, one for their ceremony and one for the evening celebrations; some go for even more! Last year, Demi Lovato wore a total of 5 different outfits across her wedding weekend,” says Lynsey.

“Brides love the freedom multiple looks give them; they can go elegant for the ceremony and more fashion-forward at the after-party. It’s a modern approach that has become almost expected now at celebrity weddings.”
