Enjoy Christmas afternoon tea with a stunning view of the Lake District

Afternoon tea This year Storrs Hall on the shores of Windermere in the Lake District will be offering a festive twist on its traditional afternoon tea, as well as a Beatrix Potter-themed tea for little ones, both served with a spectacular view of England’s largest lake, providing an idyllic festive day out – or pre-Christmas break.

The Christmas Afternoon Tea will feature butter roast turkey sliders, crispy camembert with cranberry sauce, pigs in blankets with mustard mayonnaise and chicken liver parfait with onion marmalade. There’ll be buttermilk plain and golden raisin scones served with blackcurrant jam and clotted cream, plus Borrowdale tea bread served with Lancashire cheese too. Sweet treats will include lemon meringue mince pie, chocolate santa bellies, cinnamon choux buns and pistachio macaroons, all served with fresh coffee, loose-leaf tea, or hot chocolate.

The Beatrix Potter-themed Tiny Tots Tea for kids is served on a dainty tea set adorned with Peter Rabbit and friends and is a feast of mini treats, including finger sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones, chocolate brownies, lemon drizzle cakes, mixed fruit kebabs and a choice of homemade fruit milkshake, or hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream. It comes complete with a colouring book and pencils for budding artists too.

Storrs Hall will be beautifully dressed for Christmas and guests can enjoy their Christmas Afternoon Tea on big squashy sofas in front of the fire, or in the conservatory. After tea, they can enjoy a lakeside walk within the hotel’s 17 acres of gardens, woodland and lakeshore, or they can make their visit a festive escape, with an overnight stay in one of Storrs Hall’s elegant bedrooms with a lake view.

Storrs Hall’s Christmas Afternoon Tea is available from 22nd November through to 31st December and costs £29.95 per person or £43.95 per person with a glass of champagne. The Tiny Tots Tea is available all year round and costs £13.95 per child.
