We spoke to Tiffany Skinner from Tiffany LS Photography to find out more about her business.
"I'm a natural light photographer," says Tiffany. "My style is candid, capturing moments as naturally as possible, showing raw emotion and highlighting the beauty in the surrounding environment. I love documenting special, once-in-a-lifetime moments. And what could be more beautiful than an engagement or wedding? I have a relaxed, flexible approach to shooting weddings. I hope to put clients at ease, making the experience as enjoyable as possible. I don’t enjoy being in front of the camera myself, and so empathise completely with couples that are a little shy or feel slightly awkward having their photo taken!
"As a teenager, I remember being so excited to use my first digital camera, often snapping my friends, family, and whatever caught my eye day-to-day. At the age of 16, I was fortunate enough to be accepted on a Digital and Film Photography A Level course. From there, my passion for photography grew. I loved developing films and experimenting with digital editing.

"Looking towards the future, I decided I wanted to teach. I studied for a BA Hons degree in Primary Education and continued to develop my photography as an enthusiast. I couldn't leave the arts behind completely and chose to specialise in Creative and Expressive Arts allowing me to incorporate my photography into my degree. Fast forward 12 years, and after teaching in an outstanding primary school, coordinating art and design, and being a part of the Senior Leadership Team I decided my time in teaching was coming to an end. I knew I wanted to pursue my dream. With the support of my wonderful husband and family, I made the leap!
"The last year has been incredibly hard for so many people. With financial struggles, families unable to meet each other and meet new arrivals, marriages postponed and restricted, and the death of loved ones. During the pandemic, I have photographed families and couples to raise money for the NHS. It has been wonderful to get to know my couples but heartbreaking to hear their stories. It's made my job even more special, knowing that my photos are being shared and treasured with loved ones during this time.

"Following the loss of my mum due to a very short battle with cancer last year, I've raised money for Cancer Research through photography. I have held a Cancer Research day, offering photoshoots for donations to charity. I have also donated photo shoot sessions to raise money for Cancer Research. I will continue to support Cancer Research through my work, in memory of my wonderful mum.
"I'm extremely grateful to my wonderfully supportive client base. They have enabled my business to grow beyond what I had hoped for in such a short space of time. I have built a solid reputation, with many of my clients coming to me through word of mouth. I am currently nominated for 'North West Photographer' and 'Best Newcomer' through The Wedding Industry Awards. Thank you to my wonderful couples that have voted for me!
"Thank you to Your North West Wedding for publishing my work! I am fortunate enough to have had my work chosen to be on the cover of two issues of Your North West Wedding and on the front of the Lancashire Post. To see my work published means so much. My business is an extension of me and to share my work through capturing so many special moments is a joy!"
