Honeymooning in your married name
If you are dreaming of jetting off to sandy shores with your sparkling new ring, spouse and matching...
Q – I’ve recently got engaged and am planning to go wedding dress shopping. What can I expect from my first appointment?
"First of all, congratulations and welcome to your planning journey! You’re bound to feel a little nervous attending your first bridal appointment, after all, it’s not every day you get to try on a wedding dress. I can’t talk for all bridal boutiques, but here at The Bridal House, we offer a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We like to think that we put our brides and her guests at ease minutes after they walk through the door.
"At the start of your appointment, your consultant will ask about your ideas and plans for the big day. Be descriptive, this helps paint a picture of how you envisage your special day and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
"My advice is to dress to your taste for the appointment, this will help the boutique recognise your style. White/nude underwear will also help with the overall look of the gown.
"In my boutique, we encourage our brides to look through our collections and choose the designs which stand out to them. Take advantage of the bridal consultants’ knowledge, as dresses can look completely different on a hanger to on a bride, they will know instantly what will suit your shape.
"Once you have found the one, and trust me, you really will know when you have, your consultant will add a veil and hair accessory to give you the full bridal look."
