Calthwaite Hall has built a new orangery

Calthwaite Hall, a Gothic stone country house in Penrith, has built a new orangery. The £500,000 building can hold weddings of up to 120 guests and is the only free-standing wedding orangery in Cumbria. This stunning building has a glass front with double doors opening onto a Mediterranean-style garden with plants and herbs. It has an elegant, neutral canvas that can be personalised to suit different themes and colour schemes. A full bar set-up with beer pumps and an extensive bar at one end with a designated dancefloor area at the other.

The team have also hired a new head chef with a two AA Rosette winning background from the Lake District to run the pub, weddings and handle outside catering.

Surrounded by acres of luscious countryside, Calthwaite Hall is full of character with period detailing, lawns with sweeping curved borders, a hidden folly and a secret garden with trickling water features. There’s also a luxury lodge site with must-see hot tubs that’s ideal for pre-wedding getaways.
