Designed with exclusivity in mind, the Gilpin Lake House is surrounded by a private lake and 100 acres of countryside. Located within a national park, the grounds are untouched and devoid of traffic, creating a peaceful oasis for weddings. The Lake House is on three levels with a grand entrance, six fabulous suites, a sweeping staircase, a large lounge scattered with sofas, armchairs and bookcases, floor-to-ceiling windows and log fires. There’s also a large conservatory overlooking the lake, traditional saunas, two outdoor hot tubs and a heated indoor pool that leads onto the gardens and lake. The house itself sits by a four-acre lake, which is home to a large collection of wild ducks, birds and red squirrels. Couples can walk to Cat Cragg from the grounds which offers 360-degree panoramic views of the Lake District, including the distant mountain ranges of Coniston and the Llangdales, where deers and birds of prey are frequently seen.
Celebrate in style
Intimate weddings of just two people take place in the Boat House, located on the private lake, it includes a ceremony room, table flowers, witnesses and a bottle of champagne to celebrate with after the service.
Couples can have exclusive use of the property for two nights, with 12 people staying at the Lake House, and the wedding taking place in the Conservatory for up to 60 guests. Alternatively, the Marquee, by the lake, can be hired to accommodate 120 friends and family.
