Appleby Castle is a grant yet homely fortress surrounded by acres of charming woodland. The grand gates will greet guests, and as they peek through the Inner Bailey, the true scale of this magnificent castle will begin to unfold. The venue is registered for civil ceremonies with several stunning spaces to choose from. The Great Hall has a suit of armour perched over the fireplace, dramatic high ceilings and comfortable furnishings.
Those looking for a more intimate celebration will have a choice of oak-panelled rooms which can be turned into a romantic dining setting in the evening.
In the gardens, couples can pick from the yew tree avenue, butterfly meadow or ornate pagoda. The lawns are located in front of the main staircase, which has a spectacular backdrop. Alternatively, the Keep can be used which is currently being restored to its former glory.
After the vows, guests can move to The Old Great Hall, located on the ground floor it boasts stone pillars, antique oak benches and long tables.
