Cumbria’s Premier Wedding Show is back!
Cumbria's Premier Wedding Show is back with a showstopping Diversity Show taking place on Sunday 26th...
Heather Pearson, wedding manager at Laura Ashley Hotel The Belsfield, is just one of many brides-to-be whose weddings have been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. With the question in mind of what to do with your original wedding date, Heather has shared her suggestions for those still wanting to celebrate the day in a special way.
Have a date night
While going out isn’t an option right now, staying inside doesn’t mean you can’t dress up and have a date night indoors. Why not cook your favourite meal together and pop open a bottle of champagne and enjoy a nice date night at home.
Have a duvet day
If you’re not feeling like dressing up, then why not treat yourselves to a duvet day. Leave the washing up to someone else and order from your favourite takeaway, snuggle up and watch your favourite film or series. Turn off your phones and spend the day just the two of you.
Be your own DJ
Create a playlist of your favourite songs and the songs you planned to play on your big day and have a dance in the living room. Why not take the opportunity to practice your first dance? Make it a fun evening by decorating the room or putting on disco lights.
Have a virtual party
It's a difficult time being apart from your friends and family, but even more so when you were planning to spend your magical day together. Boost everyone’s mood and arrange a Zoom call with your family, bridesmaids and groomsmen so you can connect face-to-face and have a virtual party to celebrate the day.
Get arty
Why not ask your partner to draw what they think your wedding dress looks like? Don’t look at the drawing, hide it away in an envelope and then open it on your big day. It may even provide a few extra laughs with your guests during your speeches!
There’s no right or wrong way to spend your original wedding date so mark the day however feels right for you. Most importantly, your love for each other hasn't been postponed - that will always remain the most important part of any wedding.
