Situated on the outer edges of Manchester, Elizabeth Gaskell’s House is a charming Grade II* listed Victorian property. Built between 1835 and 1841, it boasts a garden, a heavily scented pergola and offers ample opportunities to take those all-important photographs. The venue was renovated to replicate the famous novelist’s family home and is ideal for history and book lovers.

Celebrate in style
Nuptials can take place in the Drawing Room, which has a grand piano, Victorian furnishings and space for 35 guests.
Alternatively, the Study is available, with room for 10 loved ones for the service.
Receptions take place in the light and airy Servants’ Hall, which is capable of holding 35 friends and family.
The House Kitchen can be used for the drinks reception, afternoon tea or for outside caterers.

We love...
The venue’s rich history and charming décor.
