Winter is coming

Louise and Christopher tied the knot with a Game of Thrones theme at the gorgeous King Street Townhouse.

Louise Dennison, 32, married Christopher Conway, 30, at the King Street Townhouse in Manchester on 14th January, 2018.

We decided to get married at the King Street Townhouse in Manchester because of its quirky style and beautiful views of the city. I'm from Oldham and Chris moved to Salford at a young age so it was important to us that we tie the knot in the place that brought us together.

We had a Game of Thrones-inspired cake, it was three-tiers of red velvet topped with two Pop Vinyl figurines. It was made by a mutual friend and she did such a great job that we're still talking about it now!

We named our tables after the Game of Throne houses and each table had the corresponding crest.

We decorated the venue with outdoor lanterns and used log slices for our centrepieces with flower petals and paper hearts cut from the Game of Throne's books.

For our flowers we used a mixture of alabaster roses, lilac roses, senecio leaf, veronica, waxflower and lisianthus.

For our favours we had shot glasses and mini jars filled with Applesourz labelled 'wild fire'.

Chris chose a grey and lilac tail suit from Jeff Banks, he wore a slightly different tie and pocket square to the groomsmen to make him stand out and as a wedding present I gave him Game of Throne's cufflinks that looked great.

I wore a strapless fishtail dress with embellished details from the Bridal Outlet in Stockport. I'm quite curvy and I felt the gown flattered my figure and complemented my assets.

I accessorised my look with a veil from the Wedding Veil Shop, ivory shoes from Debenhams and pearl earrings that my mum gave me.

I had five bridesmaids and they all wore the same maxi-dress by TFNC; two were lavender and the other three were mauve. It was hard getting all the girls to agree on the same gown but in the end we compromised and they all looked amazing.

We were both really happ y on the day – it went by so fast and I wish we'd had more time to stop and enjoy ever y moment . I was 30 minutes late to the ceremony due to a nail malfunction, which meant every thing had to be sped up to keep up with the schedule.

We entertained our guests with a variety of rock and indie music and our lovely friend even performed as a DJ in the evening.

All of our close friends and family came from all over the world including Canada and America to make our big day extra special. We couldn't have done it without them and we were so happy they made the effort to celebrate with us.

The speeches were great, my stepdad did a short but emotional one that included my dad who sadly passed away. Chris' speech was hilarious and really thoughtful and his sister did an amazing job at making everyone laugh.

We're planning to go on a group trip to Belfast and Croatia for the ultimate Game of Thrones tour for our honeymoon. We're so excited and it was partly paid for by our loved ones as a wedding gift.

Towards the end of the night while I was dancing I slipped on the back of my dress and fell over! I tried to save my glass of prosecco, as you do, which unfortunately smashed in my hand and I've been left with a scar that we now refer to as my battle scar. We laugh about it now but my dry-cleaning bill certainly wasn't funny!
