Victoria Cochrane, 26, married Grant McKenna, 26, at St Andrew's Church in Coniston followed by a reception at The Coppermines on the 5th August, 2017.
We both wanted to get married in a church and we adore the village of Coniston in Cumbria so as soon as we saw St Andrew's we knew it was perfect.
I ended up trying on around eight dresses, and I chose a style that was the complete opposite to what I originally wanted. Lucy from Lucy Alexander Bridal Boutique was amazing and she suggested a gown that she thought would look great on me – as soon as I put it on I knew it was the one.
The team at Posh Flowers were great. I showed them some pictures of blooms I liked and they created an arrangement that was exactly what I'd hoped for.
We first visited The Coppermines in 2015 and we fell in love with it right away. We wanted to stretch our celebrations across the weekend so we arranged for our friends and family to stay in the on-site cottages. The owner, Phil, was so helpful he made sure we had everything we needed and he also suggested lots of wonderful suppliers.
Grant wore a Ted Baker suit from Slaters Menswear while the groomsmen wore the same style but in a slightly lighter shade. I had my three best friends as my bridesmaids, they wore full-length sleeveless gowns. I told the girls they could all choose different styles but they ended up falling in love with the same dress!
We decorated the venue with bunting, ladders, candles, signs, lanterns and flowers. For our centrepieces we used tree slices that my step-dad had cut down for us with hessian-wrapped jars filled with beautiful blooms.
Jay Adams did my make-up; I chose her as I wanted a natural look and she uses cruelty-free brands, which really appealed to me. I had Katie Tweedale style my hair as I had heard great things about her, she did a fabulous job and they both made me and my bridesmaids feel relaxed and beautiful.
We ordered our big-day bake from Iceability; we chose a naked cake decorated with memory lane roses – it was delicious.
I'd looked at lots of websites trying to find the perfect photographer. I'd already heard lots of people recommend Steve Hillman and as soon as we saw his work at a wedding fair we knew we had to book him. He understood what style we wanted and he captured lots of genuine and special moments from our big day. We'd highly recommend Steve, not only for his amazing photography skills but also his fun and friendly nature.
We booked a magician called Joel Dickinson to keep everyone entertained, he was such a nice guy and our guests are still talking about him now!
We hired a band for the evening called the Shed Sessions and they also acted as a DJ in-between sets. We'd heard them the year before playing at a pub in Dalton and we booked them the very next day. They got everyone up on the dancefloor and created such a great atmosphere.
For our entertainment we booked a saxophone quartet. Our guests loved hearing them as they arrived at the venue, they played a range of styles and sounded amazing.
