Vicky Green, 26, married Alex Evans, 26, at Langdale Chase Hotel on the 28th May, 2017.
We first visited Langdale Chase Hotel in January, 2016, and even in the pouring rain we knew it was the one. We loved the fact it was dog friendly which meant we could include our beloved springer spaniel, Izzy. The staff were brilliant especially our wedding coordinator Chloe who put us completely at ease.
I knew what type of dress I wanted and the staff at The Dressing Room Garstang were so helpful. I'm very petite so nothing fitted me properly so the staff had to pin the gown to my size so I could see what it would look like on the day. I loved the timeless lace, gorgeous detailing and illusion back.
Alex and the groomsmen wore matching three-piece suits from Next.
For the bridesmaids' dresses I chose a mink-coloured gown that was fitted at the bust and flared at the waist. It had an illusion neck and detailed beading, which everyone loved and it looked stunning on all the girls.
I had my hair done by my local hair dresser and sister-in-law Chelsie. I knew I wanted some of my hair pinned up and the rest down, it looked great and I incorporated a veil that complemented the beading on my dress. For my make-up I hired Make-up By Polly, she used an airbrush technique that left me feeling glamorous and confident.
When we visited The Country Florist in Lancashire we told them what colour our bridesmaids' dresses were and asked for their expertise in picking suitable blooms. They went the extra mile for us and made sure everything was perfect for our big day.
We entertained our loved ones with a game of croquet, it was a hit with all our guests especially our dog Izzy. In the evening we had a family friend, Brian Sewell play a variety of music, he was great and even managed to get everyone on the dancefloor.
Our friends and family helped decorate the venue on the morning of the wedding. We had fairylights placed around the dancefloor, Mason jars full of flowers and candles, table covers, sashes and a help yourself cocktail pitcher.
I travelled to the venue in a red Bentley that Alex's cousin owned, it was lovely driving around the lakes in such a beautiful car and I loved seeing how excited my dad was.
We met Alex from Fairfield Photographic at a wedding fair, we loved his work and he included a complimentary pre-wedding photo shoot which we thought was a great idea since neither of us are particularly confident in front of a camera.
We wanted something classic and elegant so we decided on an all-white bake with a personalised 'Mr and Mrs Evans' cake topper. We opted for three different flavours; lemon, berry and triple chocolate. It looked amazing and turned out exactly how we imagined.
We had an amazing day that incorporated lots of wonderful local businesses. We were very happy with the end result and I was particularly proud that my 98-year-old grandad could be part of our big day as his always been my hero.
