"Dane and I first met in Manchester on a drunken night out after our mutual friends fixed us up,” says Aimee. “It turned out we lived around the corner from each other and had done most of our lives!”
After three and a half years Dane proposed on Christmas Day, putting the ring in a bauble. “It wasn't expected, but he was panicking like Chandler from Friends, so I knew he was up to something!” says Aimee. Here, the bride tell us more about their big day...
My dress was from The Confetti Box in Eccles. It was a Ronald Joyce design called Romina and was the first dress I tried on. I loved the high neck and the detail on the back – my mum said it looked like Grace Kelly. I accessorised with Jimmy Choos, a pearl bracelet and earrings, and a big veil to suit our cathedral ceremony venue.
Dane opted for a navy suit with a grey checked horseshoe waistcoat and a purple tie. Whereas the groomsmen donned checked waistcoats and grey ties.
I always wanted a church wedding and my old school priest was working at Salford Cathedral. It was the perfect setting.
Our cake was beautiful – it had lace-look icing and pearl buttons like my gown. It was topped with two-toned calla lilies.
My bouquet was made up of two-toned white and purple calla lilies – I love the deep aubergine hue and these blooms were the perfect match.
The sweet table at our reception went down well with the children. They were all playing shop by the end of the night and charging people!
