When Samantha and Scott met at a leadership programme in Australia, she knew he was the one for her. "We became close friends, and I loved his sense of adventure," says Samantha. "I realised there was a spark when I felt a sense of dread about returning to the UK and not getting to see him every day."
Scott surprised Samantha by proposing during a dream holiday to the Scottish Highlands. "I'd wanted to visit since I was a little girl," shares the bride. "It was the end of February 2018, and the Beast from the East had finally eased up enough for us to travel. We spent five glorious days discovering Skye from the little cottage Scott had hired. Towards the end of the trip, he'd organised for us to visit a castle, where he got down on one knee and proposed. I don't remember what I said, and I was in such shock I didn't even notice that our two best friends were there taking photos!"
Here she shares some of her favourite moments from their big day...
Scott's dad is the pastor at The Dream Centre, so it seemed right for him to marry us.
We love nature, and after viewing several venues, we decided that Hyde Bank Farm was the perfect place for us. The property has a beautiful barn and surrounding hills, which looked great in our photographs.
My sister's friend designed our place names and table plan.
For our cake, we chose a simple yet elegant creation from Yolk. It was made up of carrot, lemon and blueberry.
I wore a breathtaking gown designed by Jesus Peiro called 8004.My dad bought it for me, and it was a special moment getting to show it to him.
Our centrepieces were bouquets of dahlias, eucalyptus and thistles from Classy Blooms.
We asked our friend, Pete, to make a doughnut wall for the occasion.
The best man has a photo booth business, so we asked him to set it up with lots of props. Our guests loved it and used it all night.
Scott wore a plaid suit, brown shoes and a boutonniere.
For the bridesmaids' dresses, I chose a navy party gown from Review.
For our honeymoon, we went to Crete for 11 days. We went jet skiing and quad biking and loved every minute of it.
It was amazing having all of our nearest and dearest in one place. A few of our Australian friends were unable to attend, so Scott created a video of special messages and played it during our reception.
