October/November 2020

Welcome to our October/November issue! I feel a bit crazy saying that, how can it be October already, it feels like yesterday that it was January? I think we can all agree it’s been a crazy year, but it’s been so lovely seeing the North West wedding industry come together and help couples power through these tough times.

Whether you’ve recently got engaged – congratulations! – or are re-planning your special day, think of us as your new BFF when it comes to wedding planning. We’re here to support you through every aspect of your day and have put together an issue bursting with inspiration. Our fashion section is full of the latest trends for the whole bridal party, we’ve asked local photographers to send in their favourite images and put together a flowers feature to help you create the perfect setting.

If you’re still looking for a venue, don’t despair, we’ve rounded up some of the best properties in Greater Manchester and taken a step back in time to highlight some historic wonders.

We’re always looking for real weddings and styled shoots to feature in the magazine so make sure you submit yours at www.yournorthwest.wedding/get-involved-real-wedding

Enjoy the issue!

Augill Castle

Augill Castle is situated in the gloriously unspoilt Eden Valley between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks. The 15 acres of grounds are a mixture of formal and country gardens, with historic turrets and castellations, perfect for taking photographs.

The property was built in 1841, and in 1997 the current owners bought it and worked hard to transform it into the luxurious wedding venue we see today.

Inside, there is a range of quirky and decadent rooms and suites available, spacious public rooms and antique furniture.

The most popular ceremony space is the Music Room. This space is beautifully decorated and is ideal for both intimate and lavish celebrations.

For the wedding breakfast, couples can hire the Dining Room, which has space for 46 guests or 60 with a buffet option.

If the weather is nice, the team can also do a barbecue in the gardens or tours which take in all the public rooms.

This month, here's Sabina's top tips on hosting a personal, intimate, micro wedding.... weddings aren't gone, and they're certainly not forgotten!Sabina says, "Embracing a small and intimate wedding now and having a larger reception later can be intimately beautiful and you get to celebrate again with your guests. After our wedding date was postponed several times and it became clear a ceremony and reception were off the cards. We had a small wedding in September with 15 of our nearest and dearest. "The new wedding restrictions are for legally recognised weddings only in the UK, which means all 'non-legally' recognised weddings are sadly not and follows the 'Rule of 6'. In these instances, many weddings may have a cultural ceremony now followed by a civil ceremony and reception later.
