April/May 2021

I’ve worked at Country Wedding Magazines for more than four years and over that time I’ve seen trends come and go, inspirational real weddings and worked with some amazing suppliers. As a result, I thought I’d have a pretty good idea of what I’d want at my own wedding but when my partner, Dave, recently proposed I realised I have absolutely no idea. I’m sure lots of you will agree that the first few weeks of having the ‘engaged’ status and wearing the ring feels a bit surreal, but the endless possibilities are also really exciting. Like so many of you, we’re trying to plan the perfect wedding during a pandemic, so things have been a little unconventional so far with online tours, lots of Skype meetings and E-mails. Its been so wonderful to see first hand how suppliers in the wedding industry are going above and beyond to ensure their couples’ days are special, regardless of the restrictions.

If like me, you’re looking for inspiration, then this issue is perfect for you. We’ve rounded up some of the best photographers, spoken to local jewelers, hair and makeup artists and a host of other talented suppliers. We have three real weddings starting on page 21 and a stunning shoot on page 49 that’s sure to inspire you.

You can submit your wedding or styled shoot via our website or at Melissab@kdmediapublishing.com

I hope you enjoy the issue!

Gisburne Park

Nestled within 1,000 acres of picturesque Ribble Valley countryside, Gisburne Park is owned and managed by Guy Hindley and his family. The extensive estate has a three-bedroom Riverside House and a five-acre plot for guests to explore.

Available for exclusive use, the elegantly restored valley has everything needed to create a magical setting for weddings.

Couples can tie the knot surrounded by ancient woodland, enjoy dinner in the magical tipis or party under the stars by the firepits.

For those seeking an authentic countryside wedding, the estate offers a blank canvas that can be dressed to suit the couple’s tastes. A quintessential ceremony can take place in the iconic Riverside House, or lovebirds can have a luxury outdoor blessing in the idyllic upstream setting.

Nostalgic scenes and marmalade dreams from Jo Malone London

The 1st May sees Jo Malone London launch its latest limited edition collection. Inspired by nostalgic scenes and marmalade dreams The Marmalade Collection features five charming new fragrances - Tangy Rhubarb, Rose Blush, Orange Peel, Elderflower Cordial, and Blackberry & Bay. Natural fruit extracts were created specially for The Marmalade Collection by one of the UK's leading soft fruit processors in Blairgowrie, Scotland. Usually used in the food industry, fruits and berries from local growers are steam distilled into draughts that are added directly to the fragrance. These extracts help to capture the true vibrancy of tart rhubarb and juicy blackberry.

Retreat to the city at The Marylebone, London

As the country prepared for Lockdown Part II, my husband and I managed to sneak in a last-minute escape to the city to enjoy a much-needed retreat at The Marylebone. Nestled in the hotel's super-trendy namesake neighbourhood, between the Georgian Welbeck Street and the part-pedestrianised Marylebone Lane, you're just a short walk from London's most famous Monopoly locations, from Bond Street to Mayfair.
