Shot at Sandhole Oak Barn, this colourful styled shoot is full of fun inspiration

This styled shoot was inspired by The Beatles' song Here Comes The Sun. "I used to play it in the house and sing it to my kids during lockdown," says shoot organise Zayna B from ZAZevents. "The song is all about melting away the negative feelings and letting the positive in, and that's exactly what I wanted to create with this shoot. We wanted to showcase how you can have a wedding destination at home or hen do without travelling and still experience something out of this world! Our bold colour palette incorporates elements of Moroccan culture, nature and spirit. The hot pinks represent the abundance of Bougainvillaea flowers paired with deep turquoise tones, which represent the sea, and colourfully painted doorways you will find in North Morocco. The accent colour of yellow brings warmth and sunshine, while orange symbolises excitement and brings energy to the design. The shoot was full of vibrant colours, positive vibes and reflects the joy and fun of the day from our talented suppliers and wonderful models from the North West."

Sara and Luke celebrated their wedding with a wine theme at Broadoaks Country House

Sara and Luke met in 2012 on Twitter. "Following our online friendship, we started writing letters to each other, and one day, we decided to meet up," says Sara. "We didn't live near each other, so we never thought anything of our relationship other than a friendship. However, once we met, we were inseparable, and Luke asked me to be his girlfriend. From 2012 until 2018, we had a long- distance relationship whilst we completed our studies. We would travel by train to see each other, spending our weekends and school holidays together. Once we started our careers, we moved in with my parents while we saved for our house, which we bought in 2019. Over the years, we have grown together as a couple and become a team. A lot has changed in the past 10 years, but our friendship and love for each other has been consistent and grown stronger."

UK wedding guests to spend £15.6 billion in 2022

Spending by wedding guests has risen again this year as they enjoy a return to restriction-free ceremonies across the UK in 2022. New research from American Express reveals that British wedding goers will spend £883 on average to attend each wedding this year equating to £15.6 billion across the population, with guests spending more on accommodation, travel, outfits and hair, beauty & grooming compared to 2021. Of those who have or are planning to spend more on weddings this year, a third (33%) say this is because they want to celebrate with friends and family who they haven't seen as much due to the pandemic, while 27% say they are happier to spend more now that restrictions have been removed.

Be inspired by this earthy styled shoot at Holesfoot

"I met with Liv from Holesfoot to see the new venue before it opened," says the shoot organiser and photographer Mindy Coe. "I wanted to create a photo shoot which put an emphasis on the venue's gorgeous Italian gardens that can be used for weddings all year round. The lovely English country home, which is used as the main wedding space, has a cosy, wintry feel which inspired our earthy/seasonal theme. We used all British grown flowers or foraged materials as we wanted to embrace the elements and have as little impact on our environment as possible. The tablescape was set up for an intimate wedding undercover to escape the rain in the Italian garden, which has a secret garden feel. All the suppliers involved were local to the Lake District and passionate about sustainable weddings."

7 things to consider when planning a same-sex wedding

June is Pride month! Unbelievably, same-sex weddings are fairly new in the UK, having only become legal in 2014, so for LGBTQ+ couples planning their big day, it's about doing what feels right for you as a couple. Lisa Forde, wedding expert and founder of stationery favourites Tree of Hearts, said: "A wedding is all about celebrating your special love for one another so if anything that is deemed a 'wedding tradition' that doesn't make sense to you or feels outdated then you can simply ignore it.
